Project Goals
One of the main ideas behind this system is to improve the work of legal workers by providing them with faster and more efficient tools. It also provides real-time notifications for users and can comply with billing rules and guidelines, which can be easily configured.
The platform provides different solutions to improve the management of law firms and support their employees. It simplifies many procedures, helps speed up certain processes, and ensures fast but accurate performance.
Scope of Work
Our team joined the ongoing project, so the basic functionality already existed. Instead of developing software from scratch, we were responsible for scaling it and implementing new features.
During the project, we had to rewrite and optimize a significant portion of existing software to improve efficiency and fix bugs. The services and features we developed from scratch were primarily related to computer-assisted billing products and similar processes.

Solutions & Features
Quick and effective entry management
The system enables you to get set up quickly. All billing entries, clients, matters, rates, and users are automatically imported, so you can quickly get to work. The app enables both import and export using LEDES 1998B files. BillerAssist automatically flags âproblemâ entries as work is done, substantially decreasing write-downs and write-offs. Overall, you spend less time reviewing legal bills.
Automated Billing Rates
The software learns from your billing records and changes, telling you if the charge is unusually high or mistakenly low. It automatically applies hourly rates by client, matter, and user, which speeds up the entry process and standardizes the bills.
Specific rules
There is a vast number of rules you can apply to each customer and save the changes afterwards. For example, you can decide whether to charge a person for a taxi, meals, taxes, or invoice preparation. Also, you can set a rule to charge if legal research takes over 2 hours or requires an employeeâs overtime. Additionally, this software standardizes the look of the bill. You can indicate if you want all documents to start from a capital letter or have a period at the end of the text description.
