Find Your Buddy is a mobile app for social networking and event organizing.
The concept behind the Find Your Buddy social network is simple: create a platform where users can find others nearby and invite them to join common activities.
Despite the concept's overall simplicity, our client faced multiple issues and challenges during software development and eventually reached out to us for assistance.
When our team was involved, the client already had a semi-functional application, with a primarily finished front-end and a custom UI design.
So, we had to optimize and polish the existing software product and build a back-end infrastructure from scratch. Apart from that, we were also partially responsible for mobile development.
Encouraging User Engagement and Community Building
include in-app messages, geolocation tracking, an events map, and search filters, among others.
Managing User Identity and Verification
and login via email, phone, and social media accounts.
Supporting Location-Based Event Discovery
to show users nearby events, trending activities in their city, and map-based views for intuitive event browsing.
Each user has their own account and can create events and add them to the map, such as board games, yoga, hiking, barbecue, coffee, etc. Users can join existing events or organize new ones on their own. To do it, users can use integrated chat and add their in-app buddies to the discussion. If users want to receive notifications, they need to subscribe to news from other users.
This application can find the best-matching company for each user according to likes, interests, and previous events. Moreover, the built-in map displays the locations of in-app friends and nearby upcoming events.
The app comprises numerous settings to improve your search results. Users can choose the age and gender of potential friends. Also, they ask the app to search for only active users or those who have participated in activities with similar likes or preferences.
