Bookety is an online booking system for travelers, which provides access to thousands of tours in more than 2,000 destinations worldwide.

CHALLENGES

Planning your travelling can become a very tedious activity when you start checking opportunities from different providers on numerous online platforms. Bookety is a unique booking system that gives you direct access to 200,000 bookable activities and provides recommendations on best tourist attractions in a selected area. With this service, travelers can easily discover and book incredible experiences. Optimized for mobile booking, it lets users plan in advance or book on-the-go to skip long lines and sold-out signs.

Scope of work

Bookety – is a clone of Viator, a leading booking platform recognized by global audience. Our team is responsible for the development of entire Bookety platform using the detailed documentation of APIs that Viator provides for its merchants. We took over the whole development process from scratch:

Project Overview

Home page functionality

On the main page, users can see multiple blocks with top destinations, attractions in the specified place, recommendations, etc. Multiple cron jobs were written to download, update and delete tours with their related variables, such as photos, reviews, attractions, and others. When travelers allow getting their locations, they can select nearby tours. To choose the best one, user can filter products by date, price, time of day, duration, rating, and others. Also, Bookety offers a sort feature.

Quick registration

Users have an opportunity to sign up with an email and password or use Google / Facebook account. After that, the message with the verification link is sent to their email. Travelers can edit and deactivate their accounts. When the registration is complete, you can add things to your wishlist and access your bookings from any device. For better usability, users can select a specific currency from the list.

Easy booking

When you select a desired tour, you have an opportunity to book or reserve it. The reservation option allows you to pay later, however, you will be automatically charged with the help of Stripe) two days before the tour starts. Fill in the necessary information and use a Bookety promo code if you have one to complete a booking process. After that, a traveler can get the ticket, cancel and update his/her upcoming bookings, leave a review for past ones. If you cancel your booking before the free cancellation date, the full payment amount is refunded back to your original payment method. Also, a user can receive emails and SMS updates about the booking.
